We make this White Chocolate Liqueur every year for New Years. It feels indulgent but is SO easy to make at home. This homemade white chocolate liqueur also makes a great last minute Christmas gift. Or bring for the New Year’s Eve party host, you’ll be the life of the party.
- 2 oz white chocolate chips or genuine white chocolate *see chef notes
- 5 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 3/4 cup white rum
In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate.
Add in the sugar and 1/4 cup heavy cream and whisk until sugar completely dissolves.
Remove from heat and whisk in the remaining cream, milk, vanilla and almond extracts and rum.
Allow to cool to room temperature and pour into airtight container. Store in refrigerator. Rule of thumb is the earliest expiration date between the cream and milk.
Make sure you use genuine white chocolate and not baking chocolate. I like to use Ghirardelli white chocolate bars or chips.
